Greg Norman Jr. Becomes Brand Ambassador For Golf Skate Caddy
FORT LAUDERDALE – Golf Skate Caddy (GSC) - a pioneer in the manufacturing of single rider, electric four-wheel golf vehicles - announced that Greg Norman Jr., son of international golf legend Greg Norman, has joined the company’s management team. Norman Jr. will serve as a brand ambassador for Golf Skate Caddy and will assist with business development.
A professional kiteboarder and wakeboarder, Greg Norman Jr. grew up with a passion for surfing, wakeboarding, cabling, skate and snowboarding. An accomplished golfer in his own right, Norman Jr. found himself driven to establish himself as an athlete outside his father’s shadow. A graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in Business Management, Norman Jr. works closely today with his father in the family business (Great White Shark Enterprises) in addition to pursuing his own entrepreneurial interests.
“I am very excited to be collaborating with Golf Skate Caddy, as I am a huge believer in the concept,” said Norman Jr. “It’s a natural fit for me, combining my love for board sports and golf.”
Golf Skate Caddy offers many features and benefits for golf course owners and operators. The unit can speed up play by 50 percent for 18 holes and can move up to six players per tee time providing additional revenue for courses. In addition to pace-of-play benefits, it is extremely turf-friendly with less impact than traditional carts. The vehicles are also equipped with the latest technology to allow users to play music and connect to their smart phones.
“I look forward to helping Golf Skate Caddy disrupt the industry, prove its revenue model and gain market share. Innovative products like GSC represent the fun and future of the game,” added Norman Jr.
With room for a single golf bag, a built-in cooler and cup-holder, the product adds a new element of independence to golf that appeals to junior golfers, Millennials and older players. For people with joint tissues, hip or knee replacements, golfers can play painless golf with a Golf Skate Caddy and still enjoy the independent nature of the game - much like walking and carrying your bag.
“Golf Skate Caddy is for golfers of all ages. Surprisingly more than 70 percent of our individual sales to date have been to people 55 and older,” said Aaron Parkinson, CEO of Golf Skate Caddy. “Greg Norman Jr.’s grandmother, Toini Norman, is 92-years-old and loves riding it.”
Golf Skate Caddy will be exhibiting at the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla., January 26-29. The company will be participating in the Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Course January 26 and will be exhibiting in Booth 2400 at the Orange County Convention Center January 27-29.
