There is so much excitement surrounding this year’s U.S. Open, it’s palpable. The star of show is undoubtedly the course itself, Chambers Bay, which is like no previous U.S. Open site. The Robert Trent Jones Jr. one-of-a-kind masterpiece is not only visually stunning, but will also serve as the ultimate test for the greatest players in the world.

As far as winning predictions go, here is what Greg Norman had to say...

“I am opting out this time. The reason being is that the course diversity on setup is so unpredictable. The USGA Executive committee would like this to be a truly open U.S. Open, where any style player could have an opportunity to win. This is my hope as well. However, given Rory's recent play and how he is swinging the club (the best I have seen in his career,) he has to be the favorite. The rest, standby for an incredible U.S. Open!”

Greg will be making his U.S. Open commentating debut on FOX Sports this week alongside Joe Buck beginning Thursday, June 18 culminating with the final round Sunday, June 21.

The original launched in 2000 and Great White Shark Enterprises has grown exponentially since that time. Yet with all of our progress, our website has remained relatively untouched. The Greg Norman brand - its architecture and look and feel - needed a modernization to more accurately reflect who Greg and Great White Shark Enterprises is today.

The new contemporary website is responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile, and is organized for visitors to easily locate their unique areas of interest. The easy-to-navigate design is full of powerful images and new areas for fan engagement such as the blog, launching next month. We hope you enjoy the new experience.

Greg Norman’s GOLF Magazine cover is available on newsstands now!

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

On speaking the truth...

“Everything I’ve ever said I felt was right, so I have no regrets. Expect the same when I’m in the broadcast booth—I’ll call it as I see it.”

On expecting the unexpected...

“I’ve been operating a chain saw for more than 30 years, and at my ranch in Colorado I use one that’s at least four-feet long. Then, last September, I darn near severed my left hand pruning trees around my yard in Florida with a tiny, 10-inch blade. You just never know.”

On growing the game...

“This one’s simple: Introduce the game to at least one person you know, whether it’s a child, a co-worker or a spouse. That’s a grass-roots movement.”

On the good and bad of money...

“The best thing it can buy is security. One thing that money cannot buy is happiness. Wealth and joy don’t always go hand in hand.”

On Tiger Woods...

“Last summer, I commented that Tiger Woods would never win another major. I still believe this to be true.”

On calling it a career...

“As an elite athlete, you never think, ‘this is the end.’ But as performers, we’re simply pass-through entities. We have a life cycle. Some prolong it more than others, but inevitably a younger, hungrier and less-intimidated player comes along to upstage you.”

Shark Week on
In celebration of Greg Norman’s cover, has launched its very own Shark Week! Here are some of the best features of the week:

Greg Norman Lends a Helping Hand to the Adirondacks
Greg Norman and Great White Shark Enterprises recently announced a partnership with the developers of the 6,300 acre Adirondack Club in Tupper Lake, New York to include a five-star luxury residential community and outdoor recreational resort on privately owned land in the six million acre Adirondack Park.

The participation of Greg Norman and GWSE will extend well beyond golf course design and involve all facets of the resort. This partnership, in conjunction with the state government’s eagerness to invest alongside long-term well-sponsored revitalization projects in upstate New York will further help the regional economic recovery.

“This is one of the last great places with a magnificent history, culture, art, world-class outdoor activities and centuries of charm,” says Greg Norman. “You don’t have to create a new story around this project. This project is about continuing the legacy of the Adirondacks.”

Norman will build a home for himself in the private residential community and Greg Norman Golf Course Design has been tapped by the Town of Tupper Lake on a renovation of the adjacent public golf course. The plans will integrate and preserve the characteristics of its partial Donald Ross design with those of a Greg Norman Signature design.

The Adirondack Club is a low-impact, environmentally conscious, four season resort and private residential community that recently has been approved for development of more than 700 luxury homes, most of which will be clustered around the existing ski area and golf course with lake and river views. Approximately 86% of the wooded property will remain undeveloped. The detached home sites will range from ski-in ski-out townhomes to 5-acre mountain retreats to 1,200-acre Great Camp estates with a private 15-acre pond and more than a mile of frontage on the Raquette River. The Adirondack Club is the only such resort and private residential community ever approved in the Adirondack Park, which represents an area as large as Vermont.

Existing and planned activities and amenities include the Alpine ski area, terrain parks, new base lodge with restaurant designed in the classic Great Camp architectural style, extensive cross country ski and hiking trails, hotel and spa, marina, fly fishing school, guided hunting and fishing, ice skating rink, sailing and everything expected at a four season mountain resort. An exclusive gated community of 18 large lots will be released for sale this year and development of the first home sites and the marina is also expected to commence this year. An influx of U.S. and Canadian tourists and homebuyers seeking a wooded retreat with rustic comforts is anticipated.

The Adirondack Club adjoins the neighboring Village of Tupper Lake, a 19th century logging town known as the Crossroads of the Adirondacks because of its location at the intersection of State Routes 3 and 30 and its position on the 174 mile long Raquette River. The village is nestled between the Raquette River and Tupper Lake with views up to the ski mountain. The project is 30 miles from Lake Placid (site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics) and 300 miles from major metropolitans of Toronto and Boston. Saratoga Springs, Montreal and Ottawa are also easy day trips from the resort.

Despite its location in one of the most beautiful areas of the world, like most small towns, the Adirondacks struggle economically, especially during winter months. The Adirondack Club is a catalyst for the renaissance of the village and the region, providing superior destination lodging and amenities.

The resort and private residential community is expected to generate 500 full and part-time jobs on site as well as hundreds of construction jobs. In addition to renovating the well-known ski mountain, itself an economic driver for the community, the planned homes, many of which will be available in a rental pool, hotel and inn will help to satisfy the regional need for modern, overnight tourist accommodations. The effect on the finances of the community and its tax base will be dramatic.

Morgan-Leigh Norman’s Summer Recipe
Chili Crab and Mango Cups Paired with Greg Norman Estates Southeastern Australia Sparking Wine

Chili Crab and Mango CupsGreg Norman Estates Sparking Wine

  • 3 Sheets phyllo sheets, brought to room temperature
  • ½ lb fresh crab meat
  • ¼ cup red onion, chopped finely
  • 1 small ripe mango, chopped finely
  • 1-2 Tbsp chili oil (depending on the heat you desire)
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped (reserve some for garnish)
  • 3 Tbsp fresh goat cheese
  • Cooking spray
  • Needed Equipment: smallest of muffin pans (2 Tbsp capacity)

Preheat oven to 350º In a medium mixing bowl, add crab, mango, onion, chili oil, olive oil, chives, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Lay phyllo sheets flat out on the counter. Cut phyllo into 1½ inch squares. Layer 4 cut squares together, spraying with oil between each layer. Try to layer the squares so that all the corners do not overlay the bottom corners- this will make for a better looking final product. Repeat with remaining squares until all are layered.

Oil each cup in the muffin pan. Press 1 4-layered square into each of the oiled muffin cups. Bake the phyllo cups for approximately 5 minutes or until slightly browned/golden in color. Make sure the phyllo has become crispy. Removed from oven and set aside to let cool.

Remove each of the baked phyllo cups from the muffin pans and set onto serving plate. Spoon rounded teaspoons of crab filling into each of the phyllo cups. Sprinkle the top of each crab filling with small amount of goat cheese. Sprinkle with remaining chives. Serve and enjoy!
